Profile Summary:

Join the growing VFA Practice Management and Training Team! 

***This position can be located at our Windsor, CT, Braintree, MA or Des Moines, IA facilities.***

Profile Description:

  • Designs, develops and delivers training courses and materials on assigned topics to array of internal and external constituents.
  • Collaborates across team to leverage knowledge and increase efficiency and effectiveness of training efforts.
  • Uses a consultative approach to assess training requirements (needs), which may involve conducting interviews and/or designing and developing questionnaires.
  • Prepares agenda, organizes content and creates lesson plans relevant to training material.  Selects appropriate training aids to support objectives, ranging from materials document based to electronic or computer aided media.
  • Delivers training content to multiple constituencies potentially in multiple formats. This could include internal (Voya) audiences and external audiences (advisors and staff).
  • Delivers training in person, over the phone, on live and recorded webinars, via documentation and other written medium (like PowerPoint).
  • Develops and maintains training measurement system.  Analyzes data in order to judge effectiveness of training sessions.  Adjusts training plans accordingly. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • 8+ years professional experience
  • Independent team player
  • Ability to connect and develop relationships across organization, with advisors and staff
  • Financial services experience in advisor, operational or training capacity
  • Excellent professional written, oral communication and group presentation skills
  • Microsoft Office skills – writing and PowerPoint sample required


  • Knowledge of investment and insurance processing
  • Familiarity with learning management systems and e learning/micro learning concepts
  • Salesforce, MoneyGuide Pro, Pershing systems experience
  • FINRA licensing (6/7/63/65/66)
