Profile Summary:

The Sr. Business Analyst position will support the Business by working within the Application Maintenance team.  Responsibility for eliciting, understanding and documenting business needs to determine and recommend the most optimal solution to conduct software development and solutions to issues and small enhancement requests. Assists in formulating creative, technical contributions to defining user business and functional requirements for resolving issues and enhancements.  Acts as an adept analytical resource focusing on critical business priorities. Assists in establishing plans for defining, delivering, enabling and supporting information technology components within the Application Maintenance Producer Services team.

Profile Description:

  • Provide consulting regarding the practices and methods for defining detailed business requirements including planning, documentation, analysis and alignment to corporate standards
  • Review business requirements which describe the business needs and the scope of the solution.
  • Document and refine business requirements to describe the business needs to a functional requirement level without presuming a technical solution.
  • Support the execution of the development pipeline and delivery of Voya’s software products including vendor solutions to QA, and ultimately to production
  • Work in execution of product development and maintenance across all teams as part of the application maintenance and development cycles
  • Work with Project and Release Management to sequence/coordinate development activities within software development environment methodologies
  • Supports change manager/release manager by developing detailed project information such as scope information, estimates, evaluation criteria and results, etc.
  • Formulate and define system scope and objectives based on both user needs and a thorough understanding of business systems and industry requirements; considers business application of technology to both current and future business environment.
  • Provides senior level consulting services to internal business groups, suppliers and peers on perfective improvement opportunities improve business and IT results.
  • Ability to work in a team and independent settings based upon work request needs
  • Ability to Lead BA's in Requirement Analysis for small to medium projects and issue resolution scenarios. Coaches and mentors less experienced analysts.
  • Perform Incident communication and tracking along with providing input into metric reporting used by business and IT.  Engage in high priority incident calls to provide input into restoration of service solution options.    
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.  Able to interact with a variety of levels of stakeholders.  Effectively interface with leadership, business partners and IT partners.
  • Strong problem solving & analytical skills both at the tactical and strategic levels
  • Liaison between supplier and business to set priorities, align IT deliverables to align with business needs.  Coordinate and negotiate with partners and team to align deliverables.
  • Drive suppliers to ensure contract KPI’s and SLA’s are met. 
  • Drive and track issue resolution with suppliers based upon business prioritization. 
  • Meet with business to set priorities and plan for upcoming business priorities.
  • Innovate and influence process changes and best practices to align with organizational goals.
  • Work extra hours as needed.

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in a directly related field
  • Six + years of professional IT experience with leadership in technical and business analysis
