Position Summary:

Voya has an opening for a Sr. IT Release Manager.  The Release Manager ensures coordination of all enhancement and project requests supported by a system release with members of the Business, IT, and Project Management areas; ownership of all key activities surrounding applicable releases.

Position Description:

  • Organize, direct, and manage activities for building and maintaining application / software releases for their promotion to the production environment across multiple application suites.  
  • Interact with large multidiscipline teams in a matrix management organization.  The disciplines include Operations, BSA, QA, developers, infrastructure, and senior business & IT leaders. 
  • Oversee the actual installation window and ensure any fallout items are identified, tracked and resolved during the post installation phase. 
  • Responsible for communication plans of scope and change control management with stakeholders and team members. 
  • Meet monthly or quarterly with Business Leaders to review priorities for future work
  • Work with managers of application suites to confirm there are resources available to implement the release.   If there are resource issues, the release manager escalates to appropriate senior leaders for follow up.
  • Ensure there is technical support available to assist technical resources during the installation time frame including pre & post activities.
  • Responsible for overall reporting within a given release and escalates as appropriate.

Knowledge and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of four years related IT experience – preferably systems release and/or project management
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to build relationships with various stakeholders in a matrix environment
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities
  • Exposure to automated testing tools, process management tools and change management
