Profile Summary:

Security Architect within the Security and Tech & Ops Risk Management organization with responsibility for insuring secure architectural solutions within the Voya environment. Will work with internal Security teams and all other organizations within IT. Resource for maintaining knowledge of the absolute latest industry trends and best practice approaches with respect to securing information and designing and implementing disaster recovery plans.  Influences to ensure Voya Information Technology leverages the most effective technology and practices to ensure the safety and security of its information systems and data.


Profile Description:

  • Directs the development of Voya’s security architecture, standards, policies, and procedures (across all platforms and infrastructures) ensuring the appropriate leveraging and application of industry best practices that best fit the needs of the company
  • Performs activities including providing technical expertise, management communications, project planning and tracking and determining and coordinating project milestone timeframes with other IT Security, programming and technical staff
  • Using industry knowledge and expertise, provides state-of-the-art technical and consulting support to client and IT leadership and staff in risk assessment
  • Closely associates and participates on industry security standard setting groups and maintains an awareness of up to date State/Federal legislation and regulation pertaining to information security
  • Develops solutions and appropriately documents
  • Works on the development, maintenance, and testing of operating systems and applications security; reviews, analyzes and draws conclusions regarding the ongoing effectiveness of existing data systems, security issues, and procedures
  • Works on the development of processes that ensure security systems and procedures are utilizing the latest industry technology and practices and are in compliance with Voya policies and standards
  • Responsible for leading the review, testing and implementation of software, data systems and data networks and ensuring the integrity and security of all electronic data and data systems are adequately protected

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Acquire a thorough understanding of Voya's technology and information systems
  • Research, plan, and design robust security architectures for IT projects within the organization
  • Research security standards, security systems, and authentication protocols
  • Assist security teams by providing technical guidance. For example, assisting with the design of public key infrastructures (PKI) or with the requirements for virtual private networks (VPNs)
  • Prepare cost estimates and identify integration issues
  • Define, implement, and maintain corporate security policies and procedures
  • Perform risk analysis and security assessments whenever needed

Soft skills:

  • Should have exceptional oral and communication skills. Be able to communicate technical concepts to senior level managers in business terms.
  • Be able to work effectively in cross-team situations
  • Have the ability to influence others to insure robust, secure technology solutions
