Profile Summary:
Voya Financial is seeking top candidates to join our dynamic and creative IT Team in our Windsor, CT office who are enhancing the Retirement Organizations Hadoop Platform. We have retiring applications that we are going to archive their data using the Hadoop Platform. This is a fantastic opportunity for promising top-caliber students to gain meaningful professional experience and exposure to a Fortune 500 company. 

Profile Description:

The responsibilities include:

  • Completing the software development components of the Retirement Technology’s organizations Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC):
    • Participation in design sessions with business analysts as they produce design documentation
    • Linux (or similar) scripting
    • Hive (or similar) SQL
    • Adherence to developer quality engineering practices including peer reviews, unit testing and coding standards
    • Transition of development to the Quality Assurance (QA) and User-Acceptance (UAT) testing resources
  • Participation in the Continuous Improvement (CI) activities including team huddles, Root-Cause Problem-Solving (RCPS) sessions and manager coaching
  • Adherence to the financial budget and timeline of the project Hive
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

  • MIS/Information Systems or related majors preferred
  • Rising Junior or Senior preferred
  • Experience with programming languages
  • Knowledge of Linux (or similar) scripting
  • Knowledge of HIVE of SQL
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Positive working attitude
  • Attention to detail
