Position Summary:


This role will create a client insight strategy for the Voya Employee Benefits division and then oversee execution of the plan.  This role will use its deep knowledge of the EB business environment and competitive situation, leveraging the corporate Voya Research team when needed, to deliver timely and consistent client insights.   Additionally, the role will be seen as the source for industry secondary research findings and insights, which will be collected, summarized for the Voya EB audience, and disseminated appropriately. The role will also be the leader in developing and delivering various client insight tactics such as advisory panels, online panels, or other similar insight gathering tools/methods.

The role will be organizationally located in the Employee Benefits team, and will work closely with several key areas as well as the customer experience team, and Voya Corporate Research when needed.


Position Description:

  • Delivers high quality and timely client analysis, insights and recommendations working independently or in concert with Corporate Marketing Research or external partners.
  • Understands the market and business context, synthesizes all relevant information, and tells a compelling story that leads to actionable recommendations.
  • Develop and execute an annual client insights strategy.
  • Curate all industry secondary research reports (LIMRA, Eastbridge, Spring Consultants, etc.) for the EB division, while serving as one of the division’s relationship managers for each key vendor partnership.
  • Leads the creation and maintenance of client advisory panels by collaborating with market leadership teams, product development, distribution, senior leadership, and corporate research. This includes agenda development, participant recruiting, and event ownership.
  • Working with Voya Corporate Research, manage and execute on research requests.
  • Creates and maintains internal client relationships and initiatives in support of business goals and objectives.
  • Ensures the quality and actionability of insights delivered in research reports / presentations.
  • Perform detailed project management.
  • Write thoughtful, well-designed, visual reports / insight summaries / presentations. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or business management.
  • 2 or more years business or market analysis experience required (Financial services experience a plus, particularly with Employee Benefits).
  • Direct experience with the synthesis of primary and secondary research, market and industry trends information, or client experience reporting as well as knowledge of emerging trends, and strong knowledge of marketing principles.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence business leaders. Ability to present complicated material in a concise and compelling manner.
  • Intensely curious and passionately loves learning, solving problems, and positively impacting the business through research and disseminating relevant findings across the organization.
  • Understands business and consumer trends as it relates to financial services needs, digital behaviors and worksite benefits.
  • The ability to create an effective presentation as well as the actual presentation to audiences at all corporate levels
  • Demonstrated experience in project management, organizational leadership, and supplier management.
  • Strategic thinker with superior analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently under tight deadlines, with minimal direction.
  • Outstanding PowerPoint, Excel and writing skills required.
