Profile Description:

Voya is searching to hire and train qualified candidates as COBOL and OmniScript developers, operating on a Linux platform. 

Responsibilities of the Role:
1.  Perform enhancements to Retirement Technology COBOL/OmniScript-based applications under the Admin Systems Delivery organization.  Included in this responsibility will be the learning of OmniPlus and its peripheral applications.
2. Designs, codes, tests, debugs and documents changes to simple and moderately complex programs, using detailed specifications prepared by business analysts.
3. Analyzes and offers improvement suggestions to existing system logic difficulties.
4. Assists in the development and documentation of business requirement and design documents.
5. Partners with QA testers to learn and understand problems with the enhancements.
6. Adheres to defined programming standards and structured coding techniques; timely completion of peer review process.
7. Working with offshore contractor resources
8.  Adhering to the financial budget of the project, including adherence to Clarity forecasting and timely submission of Clarity timesheets
9.  Participation in Continuous Improvement (CI) activities including team huddles, team problem-solving and 1x1s with their manager.

10. Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree in Information Systems preferred
  • 0-2 years experience
  • Technical aptitude to learn new computer languages
  • Excellent communication skills
