Profile Summary:

Supports in the retirement planning and advice offers across all retirement Institutional and Retail markets in partnership with business segment leads.  Helps to manage the strategy, implementation and ongoing management of Retirement’s advisory services programs, including both discretionary and non-discretionary advice and guidance services delivered to retirement plans and participants.  

Profile Description:

  • Manage Retirement Advice programs and associated advice vendors.
  • Develop overall strategy for Advisory Services broadly across Retirement and Retail Wealth Management, in partnership with the Retirement Products Lead and Retail Wealth Management. This includes understanding the competitive landscape, achieving an industry leadership position, and representation in various industry trade groups.
  • Work with senior management and key stakeholders across the organization to develop the advisory services vision and business case for key process and platform enhancements, including:

o Defining the Customer / Business Problem and Opportunity

o Clearly identifying target audience (market segments, etc)

o Conducting a competitive and market assessment

o Defining and Prioritizing features and functionality(within and across assigned portfolios)

o Completing a technology assessment (feasibility, business case, etc)

o Building out financial analysis

o Presentation of business case to partners & senior stakeholders to obtain input and support

  • Develop sales goals and business plans to achieve Advice services financial objectives, in partnership with the Retirement and Retail Wealth Management business leaders.  Monitor and report on activity supporting those goals and partner in the development of compensation plans for phone based advisors to achieve results. 
  • Be a student of the retirement advisory space by staying abreast of all advisory industry product and regulatory changes.
  • Ensure compliance with business policies and procedures.
  • Work with compliance, product management, risk management, distribution and operations management on the development of investment advisory policies and procedures.
  • Drive continuous improvement within operations, technology and usability aspects of the investment advisory offerings.
  • Manage and coordinate the implementation of advisory platform enhancements including technology, fee billing, trading and service delivery.
  • Anticipate future changes including those that may affect customers' expectations of investment advisory products and services, technological development, changing customer segments, and evolving regulatory requirements.
  • Solicit feedback from key stakeholders including product management, marketing, qualified plan business partners, independent broker-dealer reps, investment advisor representatives, vendors and the internal departments that support the investment advisory platforms.

Knowledge & Experience:

  • 8+ years financial services leadership experience with individual investment products and RIA services including mutual funds, ETFs, annuities and managed accounts.
  • Series 7, 65 and 24.
  • Ability to lead and drive results in a matrix environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide thought leadership and influence up and across the organization.
  • Proven ability to develop, communicate and implement complex, integrated strategies.
  • Strong understanding of retirement advice vendors and tools.
  • Experience working with qualified plan sponsors and participants regarding retirement planning services.
  • Strong enterprise project-management skills comfort with taking ownership of projects and tasks from beginning to end.
