Profile Summary:

This position will provide actuarial subject matter expertise on a wide variety of issues across the company.  .Reporting to the Managing Actuary in Internal Audit, the individual will lead and assist in all aspects of the audit process and will gain hands on experience and insights into key issues impacting each line of business.

Profile Description:

The incumbent will have responsibility for the following:

  • Review and evaluate models, methodologies, calculations and assumptions for accuracy, reasonableness and consistency
  • Communicate complex matters in a manner that can be understood by non-technical audiences (written and verbal)
  • Provide collaborative insight, expertise and advise when delivering recommendations from audit work
  • Demonstrate a continued commitment to increasing actuarial knowledge via staying current with emerging issues and continuing education
  • Manage multiple projects/priorities effectively working collaboratively with the broader internal audit team and business partners

Knowledge and Experience
  • Bachelors degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics or business related discipline required
  • Fellow of Society of Actuaries (FSA) preferred, Career Associate of Society of Actuaries (ASA) will be considered
  • 7+ years actuarial experience in Internal Audit, Annuities, Employee Benefits, Life or Retirement Services
  • Working knowledge of US GAAP and/or STAT accounting
  • Desire to expand knowledge in other business areas and functions where personal experience is more limited  
  • Highly analytical, strong oral and written communication skills, detail oriented with strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness and ability to progress through the organization outside of the internal audit function
