Voya Financial is looking for Senior Software Developer who will be responsible for support and improvement of business processes with information technology solutions. You will develop, design, and analyze applications and programs of moderate scope and complexity. Elements of this work will be complex and difficult problems for which you will use your analytical skills to help develop solutions and code need deliver resolutions. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and experienced professional to join Voya’s Retirement Technology team.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Under the guidance and direction of team lead to implement, unit test and maintain/support high performance front-end web application and robust back-end RESTful APIs using AngularJS, JavaScript, Bootstrap, Virtual DOM, CSS3 and SASS and ASP.NET, MVC, Web API, and SQL Server.
  • Operate efficiently and effectively within the team-specific SDLC lifecycle and process.
  • Conduct peer review and code review. Provide production support and fix critical defect / issues / tickets / incidents.
  • Participate efficiently and effectively in Quality Assurance methodologies and solutions in support of business needs.
  • Act as a liaison between business areas supported and development team.
  • Perform system and application testing, ensuring delivery meets business needs.
  • Prepare appropriate documentation from which systems and solutions are supported and maintained.
  • Writing dynamic behavior object-oriented programming (OOP) and actively participates in the design, development, and review of the code base.
  • Adheres to all organizational and IT policies and process for software development and project management.

Basic Qualifications, Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems or related discipline, or equivalent and extensive related project experience;
  • 3+ years of software development and engineering experience with AngularJS, ASP.NET, Web API, Microsoft SQL Server, Bootstrap, JavaScript.
  • 3+ years of experience in SQL programming – Stored Procedure, Triggers, Tables, Views and SQL tuning for Microsoft SQL Server database platform
  • Minimum 3-5 years of web development experience with Web API and Entity Framework 6
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in AngularJS 1.6x and JavaScript.
  • 3+ years of experience with C#, LINQ, Bootstrap, HTML5 and CSS3
  • 3+ years of experience with HTTP/HTTPs, Web APIs, REST & JSON.
  • Strong understanding of S.O.L.I.D. principles, design patterns, dependency injection and responsive design.
  • Experience in Microsoft SQL server 2016/14
  • Strong understanding data-structure, message structures fundamentals
  • Strong understanding of software development practices and design patterns/anti-patterns
  • Ability to work in team in diverse/multiple stakeholder environment using Agile/Waterfall methodologies
  • Good Analytical, Communication, Problem Solving and Customer Interfacing skills
  • Detail-oriented, focus on improving code metrics an with strong analytical and organizational skills to effectively work in a dynamic environment
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Investment banking, Wealth Management and Financial Services domain understanding will be big plus.
