Profile Summary:

Voya Financial in Downtown Minneapolis is looking for a Data centric individual who has the enthusiasm to take an opportunity and impact the growth of that opportunity. Voya is looking for someone who can favorably impact Stop Loss risk profile through developing, implementing, monitoring and improving data warehouse, tools, algorithms and processes to aid efficient data collection. In this role there will be a focus on transforming data sets into information to aide efficient clinical risk review to support cost containment, financial reserving and underwriting of stop-loss risk using predictive modeling approaches and tools. Analyze performance of developed tools to continually enhance performance.

Profile Description:

  • Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality 
  • Automate collection of large claim data in both underwriting and claims with an eye toward homogenization to allow for the application of statistical tools and algorithms that would allow for efficient clinical review of large data sets.
  • Use statistical methods to identify, analyze and interpret trends or patterns in complex claim data sets and drive continuous improvement in models and processes and generate useful business reports
  • Collaborate with product/pricing, underwriting and claims/cost containment to develop consensus around data collection standards, tools to test and implement.
  • Evaluate internal systems for efficiency, problems, and inaccuracies, developing and maintaining protocols for handling, processing, and cleaning data
  • Assumes full accountability for support of design, development and test phases for projects and enhancements including implementation of prototypes and the design of experiments to evaluate them
  • Able to work across multiple levels of the organization to assist in formulating and defining scope and objectives based on an understanding of user needs, business process, industry requirements, regulatory impacts and technology.
  • Recommends development or modification of processes to resolve business issues, through analysis of business and user needs.
     

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in statistics, mathematics, computer science
  • Strong analytic skills with ability to collect, organize and analyze large data sets
  • Strong problem solving skills to drive practical application of theoretical and/or technical methods for data collection, organization, processing and dissemination of results. 
  • Experience in Microsoft Office products 
  • SQL, R, Python experience or equivalent is strongly preferred
